Christian Education
In our Christian Education classes we strive to develop character so that lives may be transformed by the teaching of God’s word. It is through the word of God individuals are able to strengthen their relationship with God.
Thursday Night Bible Study
We come together on Thursday Nights to be taught, trained and be transformed through the teaching and studying of God’s word. Personal study, group discussion, reflection, and Q & A are just some of the ways we engage folks in the word of God.
Free Personal Bible Study
We offer a free personal one on one Bible Study for those looking to learn more about the Bible and who have a desire to follow Jesus.
Bible Reading
The Bible is essential to knowing God and His will for our lives. There is a big difference when it comes to knowing about God and having a personal relationship with him. Few people know God on a personal level.
The Bible is our guide or road map to foundational truth. It teaches about creation, the origin of sin, morality, and salvation etc.
By reading the Bible on a regular basis you can find stability and direction for your life, and learn how best to live and serve the Lord.
Once you have made a decision to serve the Lord, the steps to having a deeper relationship are as follows:
Step 1: Awareness
You realize that you have sinned; you have done things that displease God. You have been following your own desires, not God’s commands. But you see that God loves you and that He is reaching out to help you.
Step 2: Repentance
You repent, you feel sorry about the way you have lived. You make a commitment to turn away from every sin and follow the ways of God. (Acts 3:19)
Step 3: Baptism
You are baptized in water in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission, or washing a way of your sins. In baptism your old life is symbolically “buried”, and you rise to live a new life. (Act 2:38)
Step 4: Spirit Filled Living
You receive the gift of God spirit to live in you, enabling you to resist temptation and sin, to understand God’s power. (Acts 2:4)
You continue to live every day in a way that is holy, seeking the leading of God in your words and actions. You enjoy His presence, His joy, His blessings as you reach out to meet the needs of others, and by your example, help them to know God.
Step 5: Growing Spiritually
· Spend time in prayer: 2Thes. 5;17
· Read His word daily: 2 Tim. 3:16-17
· Worship & Praise Him: Col. 3:16
· Hang out with other believers: Acts 2:42-47
· Get involved: 1Pet. 4:10
· Eliminate bad habits: 1John 1:9
· Avoid what is displeasing to God: Acts 7:58
· Walking in the Spirit: Gal. 5:22-23
Membership
The Bible says “……You are a member of God’s very own family……and you belong in God’s household with every other Christian.” Eph. 2:19 (LB)
Our membership classes help individuals become a vital a part of our church family. The class is the basic introduction to our church family and it is divided into four sections.
Membership 101
This class seeks to help Individuals grow closer in their commitment to Jesus and Hope Christian Ministries.
Maturity 201
This class is geared towards helping individuals form good spiritual habits that will help them grow on their journey.
Ministry 301
This class helps individuals discover their gifts and talents and prepares them for serving in ministry.
Missions 401
In this class individuals will learn the importance of serving in their church and in the local community
Mentorship
One Up Mentorship Program
The purpose of the One Up Mentorship program is to challenge both young men and men to come out of the shadows and step into their destiny. The sessions are designed to help men discover otherwise hidden gifts, abilities and passions that they might have had, but neglected, or they didn't know that they had them. Through this enrichment program participants gifts are awakened, skills are sharpened, goals become attainable and they are able to fulfill their potential.
